How to contribute

The EU Vocabularies team welcomes suggestions to improve the controlled vocabularies and reference data published by the Publications Office of the European Union on EU Vocabularies.

You can:

  • propose a new concept,
  • suggest a correction or update to an existing one.

Anyone can contribute. You can send your proposal by email to OP-EU-VOCABULARIES@publications.europa.eu. If you are browsing EU Vocabularies, you can also use the CONTRIBUTE button in the top right-hand corner to send us your suggestions directly.

You may write in any of the EU’s 24 official languages. For faster processing, we recommend English, French or German.

Regarding datasets published on data.europa.eu, please refer to the portal's documentation.

  • Definition, preferably with an authoritative source
  • Any additional information (e.g. relations to existing concepts, further sources)
  • Your affiliation and the purpose of the proposal

You can use the template below or click here to send it us as an email.
